Thomas Brooks Elkins (August 30, 1953 — February 25, 2017)
On February 25th, 2017, Thomas Brooks Elkins went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Born in Denver, Colorado, on August 30th, 1953, to Cyril and Jane Elkins, Thomas was the youngest of six siblings. Tom is survived by his wife Janet, sons Ryan (Emily) and Nathaniel (Katelyn), daughter Laura Hailu (Fitsum), five grandchildren, 3 siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. Tom loved watching his Broncos play, and had an exceptional musical talent. Playing in various bands throughout his life with his beloved Les Paul Custom. He met Janet, his one and only true love, and they were married on August 27th, 1977. Tom moved his family to Rifle, Colorado, in 1990 and worked in plumbing, heating and pipe fitting as the owner/operator of Premium Services. In 1997, Tom took a position with the Colorado State Veterans Community Living Center where he worked as the plant manager, serving our country’s veterans for over 19 years. Tom was a devoted husband, loving father and doted on his five grandchildren who lovingly called him “Papa Tom.” His memory is forever grounded in the fond thoughts of all who were blessed to know him.
Services will be held at New Life Church, 2090 White River Ave., Rifle, Colorado, on Thursday, March 2nd, 2017, at 1 P.M.
