Velma Jean Shroyer (July 11, 1945 – March 12, 2017)

Velma Jean Shroyer, 71, passed away March 12, 2017. She was born to Lewis and Norma Hendricks in Rifle, Colorado, on July 11, 1945. Velma married Eugene Andrews, May 27, 1961. She later married Jimmie Shroyer, February 27, 1967. Velma was always loving, caring and very unselfish. She enjoyed the Great Outdoors, catfishing and hunting. She had a variety of pets all her life and multiple hobbies. Velma hated to cook, but her coffee pot was always hot.

Velma is survived by her sons, Eugene (Connie) Andrews, Ronnie Andrews, Jimmie (Karen) Shroyer, and Mike (Karen) Shroyer; daughter, Pam (Dean) Stringfield; sisters, Eva (Riley) Murray, Alethea (Lester) Stephens, Betty Cook and extended family; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren.

Velma is preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a son, 1 grandson, 3 brothers and 1 sister.

A viewing will be held at the First Christian Church, 306 East 3rd Street, Rifle, Colorado, at 1 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2017, funeral service will start at 2 p.m. with the burial immediately following at Rosehill Cemetery.
