Weldon H. Oden

Weldon H. Oden, age 85, a resident of New Castle, CO., died in his home on 5/4/2015.

An Army Veteran of the Korean War, his remains will be interred with military honors at Fort Logan National Cemetery.

Born near Lubbock, Texas to Alvin and Jeanette Oden on 8/14/1929, and following the Korean War, he returned home to resume the career he thoroughly enjoyed as along haul truck driver.

His wife Marie, and four children, Karen, Mark, Paula, and Paul, survive him. His son Joel preceded him in death.

Blessed with an active, curious, and quick mind, Weldon enjoyed reading and improving his knowledge of our world. He found pleasure in working on projects at home, taking occasional fishing trips, and spending time with his well-loved dogs.

Weldon was a beloved, kind person who passed the values of honestly, self-reliance, and hard work onto his children.
