William (Bill) Henry Weist Jr.

William (Bill) Henry Weist, Jr., of Battlement Mesa, CO., passed peacefully Nov. 8,

2014. There will be a celebration of life Friday, Nov. 14 at 10:30 a.m. at Crown Peak

Baptist Church in Battlement, Mesa.

He was born in Champaign, Illinois on June 1, 1956 to Virginia Nickerson and William Weist Sr. He was raised in Decatur, Illinois by his mother and step-father, Edward Cook. He married Joni Marsh and spent 33 years with her until her death in 2008. In 2009, he married Cheryl Harrison. She survives.

Also surviving are: parents, Virginia and Ed Cook, 4 children, Amy Weist, Battlement Mesa, William Weist, Rifle, Leesa Weist of Las Vegas, NV., and CrystalWeist-Abernathy of Bayfield, CO., 3 step-children; ten grandchildren; and eight step-grandchildren; brothers, Edward (Racheal) Cook, Kenneth (Sandra) Cook, Edward Weist and sister, Donna Weist.

Bill fought an amazing battle with cancer for 2 1/2 years. The sheer will to live and the love from his family and friends kept him alive longer than what was supposed to be possible.
