Oct. 4 is voter registration deadline
Monday, Oct. 4, is the deadline for anyone wishing to register as a new voter for this year’s presidential election.Aspiring voters can stop by their county clerk and recorder’s office to fill out a registration form or download the form off the Internet and mail it in. Registration forms that are mailed in must be postmarked prior to or on Oct. 4.Below are office locations, Web sites and mailing information for the three counties in the Roaring Fork Valley:The Garfield County Clerk and Recorder’s office is on the second floor of the county courthouse in Glenwood Springs, 109 Eighth Street. Registration forms can be downloaded at http://www.garfield-county.com; click on “Departments” and choose “Clerk and Recorder”; then select the elections link. The registration form can be mailed to the Garfield County Clerk and Recorder, 109 Eighth St., Suite 200, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601. The office will stay open on Oct. 4 until at least 6 p.m., and longer if people come to register. For more information, call 945-2377, ext. 2.Pitkin County Clerk and Recorder is located at 530 E. Main St., Suite 101, in Aspen. Voter registration forms are available on http://www.aspenpitkin.com.
