Olga K. Godeski

Olga Godeski, 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 10, 2012 at the Rifle Veterans Nursing Home.

She was born July 22, 1925 in Walsenberg, Colo. to Vinko and Mary (Ceaver) Mihalich.

Olga married John Godeski on Dec. 31, 1945 in Oak Creek, Colo. In 1954, she and John and their two sons moved to Glenwood Springs where she resided until 2001 when she moved to Rifle. Her last two years she was a resident at the Rifle Veterans Nursing Home where she was cared for by the loving and caring staff.



Next to the Lord and her family, Olga especially loved fishing and camping. On any given day you could ask Olga about her fondest memories and she would always tell you about fishing and camping with John and her two boys.

Olga is survived by her two sons, Ed (Christy) Godeski of Glenwood Springs and Dan (JoJo) Godeski of Rifle; four grandchildren, Tami (Craig) Lacy of Grand Junction, Jaret (Michelle) Godeski of Battlement Mesa, Butch (Kim) Godeski of Rifle and Shelly (Efren) Vasquez of Rifle; and eight great-grandchildren.



She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband; brothers Walter and Otto Mihalich; and great-grandchildren Christopher and Kelly Lacy.

At Olga’s request no services have been planned. Cremation has taken place.
