One dies in rollover near Rifle

RIFLE, Colorado – Two men were ejected from a Chevy Blazer and one died after a rollover east of Rifle around midnight Wednesday.According to the Colorado State Patrol, Antonio Hernandez, 27, of Lakewood, was heading west on Interstate 70 when he drove into the median and rolled.Hernandez, and the passenger, Daniel Wranik, 45, of Centennial, were not wearing their seatbelts. Both were ejected and Wranik was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.Hernandez was taken to the Grand River Medical Center for treatment.Garfield County deputy coroner Kristin Clifford said the men were believed to be staying in Rifle and worked for a carpet-laying company.Alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash. The CSP was still investigating and deciding whether Hernandez would be cited with anything Thursday evening.Post Independent, Glenwood Springs Colorado CO
