RIFLE, Colorado – Three incumbent Rifle City Council members were re-elected and a new member was voted to the Rifle City Council in the city’s municipal election on Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Of the two ballot questions, voters approved two four-year term limits for City Council members but did not approve voting districts in the city.

Unofficial votes for the City Council candidates on the board with four open seats and nine candidates – three of whom were incumbents – were:

• 508 – Keith Lambert (current mayor)

• 466 – Alan Lambert (current mayor pro tem)

• 466 – Randy Winkler

• 424 – Jen Sanborn (second term as a council member)

A ballot question asking for two four-year term limits for city council members passed 535 in favor and 312 opposed. The term limits will go into effect at the next municipal election.

A second ballot question seeking voting districts throughout the city of Rifle failed 454 to 487.
