One-vehicle rollover leaves Rifle man dead

SILT A Rifle man died in a one-vehicle rollover on Silt Mesa Road early Saturday morning.A black Dodge crew cab pickup driven by Neal E. Martinez, 30, of Rifle, was southbound on Silt Mesa Road at about 2:12 a.m. Saturday when it went off the right side of the roadway and rolled, according to a Colorado State Patrol press release. Martinez, the vehicle’s only occupant, was pronounced dead on the scene. He was wearing a seat belt and was not ejected from the cab.The Garfield County Sheriff’s Department and the Rifle Police Department rescued a brown dog, which was taken to the Rifle Animal Shelter.Colorado State Patrol is investigating the crash, and is not known if speed or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash.
