Original art sought for Latin American festival

In the tradition of past festivals, 980 AM KGLN is sponsoring this year’s student art contest for the upcoming Latin American Festival in the Mountains.

This contest is intended to inspire the youth of the community to create, explore and express their views of multiculturalism. Competition is open to students through eighth grade.

The poster should center around the titles “Latin American Festival in the Mountains,” “Festival Latino Americano en las Montanas,” and “KGLN 980, El Poder Musical de Valle.”

The poster must measure 11 by 17 inches. The bottom 7 inches of the poster must be left available for sponsor names and logos. Poster entries should be postmarked no later than Wednesday, May 1, and mailed to Colorado West Broadcasting, P.O. Box 1028, Glenwood Springs, CO 81602.

An overall winner and two runners-up will be chosen and prizes will be awarded.

For a complete list of specifications for the student art contest and poster designs, call 945-9124, e-mail latinfest@kmts.com, or ask your school’s art or language teachers for information.
