Orpha T. Papke

Orpha Tazewell Papke, of Glenwood Springs, Colo., died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, at Glen Valley Care Center in Glenwood Springs. She was 96.

She was born Dec. 3, 1905, in Grand Junction, Colo., to Chester A. and Emma Miller.

She married Wilfred William “Bill” Papke in 1935.

Mrs. Papke graduated from Ross Business College in Grand Junction and worked for several years as a switchboard operator for the telephone company.

She was well known for playing the piano.

She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Glenwood Springs.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Kingdom Hall in Glenwood Springs.

Burial will be in Grand Junction.
