Otto G. Jacobson, 82, passed away April 16, 2009, peacefully at his home in Battlement Mesa.Otto was born July 29, 1926, in Evanston, Wyo., to Otto C. and Mary Ellen (Butler) Jacobson. Otto served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.He married Melba L. Harvey May 29, 1964, in Idaho Springs. They moved to Battlement Mesa from Longmont in 1987. He was a member of the Mormon church.Otto is survived by his wife; sons Bradley G., Jimmy R., and Jeffrey Gene; daughters Joleen, Kayleen, Sherri, Linda and Cindi; and numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by three sisters.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado, P.O. Box 60307, Grand Junction, CO 81506.A memorial service is planned 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at the Grand Valley Pub & Grill.
