Our most memorable date…

Larry and Cindy EstradaGlenwood Springs

It was February 16, 1991, our 12th anniversary. My husband, Larry, and I were just arriving home after a very exhausting day at work. We really had no special plans for the evening. With two preteens on a school night, it would be dinner, homework, then off to bed. As we walked up to the door, we were greeted by our son, Jeremy, our daughter, Jennifer, and their best friend, Becky. We could not go into the house because they had a surprise for us. We were blindfolded and escorted to the back of the house where we could freshen up and get ready for dinner.A little later we were summoned into the dining room. It was the most amazing sight I have ever seen! The lights were dimmed and the table was set for two – complete with china and candlelight. Music from one of our favorite movies, the Body Guard, was softly playing on the stereo. We were seated at the table and served by our children and their friend a very unique dinner … hot dogs, buttered corn, and champagne. After making sure we had everything, the kids disappeared to their rooms so we could have the evening to ourselves. We ate our dinner and finished off the champagne while dancing the entire night. It was wonderful! This was the most thoughtful, romantic and surprising gift our children have ever given us.
