Come explore Deep Creek Canyon from Deep Lake down on July 11-13. This will be a challenging but fun trip to an area deemed eligible for Wild and Scenic River designation by the USFS and identified by the Colorado Natural Heritage Program as a Conservation Area for its biological diversity values.

This trip will start Friday after work and end on Sunday afternoon. Contact the trip leader for equipment needs, including food and gear for two nights of camping. To register and for hike information, contact Brad Yule (Wilderness Workshop) at 970-948-3950 or yulebok@hotmail.com.

Part of the Hidden Gems Hiking Series, this hike offers a combination of lush forage, edge effects and deeply wooded shelter make the proposed Castle Peak area ideal for elk, deer, grouse and raptors. Join the Colorado Environmental Coalition for this scenic hike on July 12.

To register and for hike information, contact Kurt Kunkle at kurt@cecenviro.org.
