Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers’ Marketing and Publication Committee needs additional help with its efforts to recruit volunteers and increase awareness about what the organization does for the community.

It is specifically looking for those who are interested in working with the media, graphic artists, budding or accomplished writers interested in designing trailhead and other signs, and Web site-savvy individuals.

For more information and an e-mail link, please visit http://www.rfov.org and click How You Can Help, Other Volunteer Opportunities to find the committees page or call 927-8241.

Visitors must be mindful of seasonal closures on Forest Service Road 310 in Avalanche Creek. Restrictions to both humans and dogs are in effect.

Since 1993, the White River National Forest has enacted winter closures at Avalanche Creek to protect bighorn sheep. Through May 1, the road is closed to vehicles at the road gate.

For more information, contact Phil Nyland at 963-2266.
