KDNK is calling all disc golfers to join in the second annual Merle and Chameleon Disc Golf Tournament Saturday, Oct. 6, at Burt and Ernie Park in Carbondale. Participants receive special KDNK commemorative discs and the chance to win a disc golf target basket. Competitive division play begins at noon, and the recreational division begins at 2 p.m. Entry to the recreational division does not require any experience. The theme is “The End of the Summer of Love,” so pull out the tie-dyes. Register early by calling 963-0139, as slots do fill up. Hole sponsor opportunities are available.

KDNK is listener-supported radio and is in the midst of its Fall Pledge Drive. Membership accounts for one third of the budget. More information is available at http://www.kdnk.org.

The Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) is hosting a volunteer orientation in Rifle for anyone interested in helping with hunter information efforts for the upcoming big game seasons.



Hunter Information volunteers will assist hunters at the Rifle Chamber of Commerce on the days around the hunting seasons. The orientation takes place from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the Rifle Fire District Conference Room, 1850 Railroad Ave.
