Paskett’s two goals lift Grand Valley in opener

Lauren Paskett’s two goals lifted Grand Valley to a 2-1 win over Colorado Rocky Mountain School in Thursday’s girls soccer opener for both teams.

Ashlynn Speakman recorded an assist and goalkeeper Desi McGee made five saves as the Cardinals broke a 1-all halftime tie in Parachute.

Allie Ehlers and Paige Ryan found net as Coal Ridge opened the girls soccer season with a 2-1 home victory.

Alicia Cokely recorded an assist for the Titans, who went ahead on Ehlers’ second-half strike.
