Paul Friel

Paul Friel passed away March 2, 2008, in the mountains he loved.

He was born June 28, 1960, in Philadelphia, to Vincent and Irene Friel.

He was a graduate of Brandywine College in Delaware, with a degree in hotel and restaurant management.



He moved to Colorado in 1984, and began working in Aspen restaurants, but quickly began finish carpentry work, which he continued for the remainder of his life.

He was an avid lover of nature and classic rock music, especially the Beatles. He was a guitar player, and he loved camping. He will be remembered for his outrageous sense of humor and his beautiful children.



He is survived by his parents; former wife Vali of Parachute; daughters Danielle and Michelle of Rifle, Ceara of Parachute, and Meghan Williams of Maryland; son Zachary of Rifle; brothers Patrick of Montana and Dan of Carbondale; and sisters Elizabeth, Maureen and Eileen of Pennsylvania.

Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at Farnum-Holt Funeral Home, 405 W. Seventh St. in Glenwood Springs.

Services will be held from 1-3 p.m. March 8 at Farnum-Holt Funeral Home. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

A memorial service will also be held at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at Catholic Charities in Glenwood Springs.
