Paul Sandler
Paul Sandler was born in 1945 in Sandisfield, Massachusetts, in the heart of the Berkshires. Paul attended high school in Great Barrington, class of ’63.Paul was a graduate of Boston University in 1967 with a BS in Communications. He was drafted into the Army, went through Officer Candidate School, and served with the 101st Airmobile Division, Pathfinder Group, as a Lieutenant in Vietnam from Aug of ’69-Aug of ’70. He then served with the 10th Special Forces Group for his last 6 months of service. He was awarded the Bronze Star and four air medals for missions performed.Upon exiting the military in Dec. of 1970, Paul co-founded Transceiver East, Inc. in Manhattan in Jan. 1971, with his sister Marlene Schiff. Paul was President & COO.Transceiver was an international facsimile Machine Network, specializing in service to the transportation industry. It operated in 9 Northeastern states and 6 Eastern Canadian Provinces, generating $13 million in revenue annually, with 125 employees.Paul successfully sold the company to a public transportation service provider, Comdata, Inc. in 1989.Paul also co-founded Permits USA Inc. and Permits Canada, Inc. He was President & COO, from 1975-1989. They functioned as transportation industry-related tax and permit services which was also successfully sold.From 1989-1991, Paul worked as Vice-President of Sales for Comdata, Inc. and acted in that capacity as liaison and public relations officer to government offices.In 1991, Paul started Voice-Tel of Arizona and California. As President & CEO, Paul owned 7 interactive voicemail companies. He was responsible for financial development, strategic planning, and implementation of voicemail systems throughout New Mexico, Arizona and the Los Angeles area. He began with 837 subscribers in Arizona and grew to approximately 25,000 subscribers on 14 sites. He eventually sold the business in 1997 for $10 million.From 1998-2002, Paul became an investor and principal in numerous successful businesses: World Wide Express, Scottsdale, AZ; Personal Fitness Partners, Inc; & Consultis of New Jersey, Inc, an information technology company.Paul retired in 2002, but developed two properties in Aspen, Colorado.Paul leaves his wife of 38 years, Elaine and twin sons, Andrew & Justin.
