Paul William Fischer

Paul William Fischer, 89, was born Feb. 27, 1917, to Will and Nanna Bell (Howell) Fischer in Carrollton, Mo. He passed away at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs on Aug. 26. He was an engineer and had been a resident of the Roaring Fork area for the past 36 years. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Mary Morgan on Sept. 29, 1940, in Sunnyvale, Calif.Mr. Fischer is survived by his wife; a sister, Margaret (Fischer) Wallace of Carrollton, Mo.; one child, Shirley (Fischer) Kline; five grandchildren, Michael Kline of Gypsum, Daniel Kline of Soda Springs, Idaho, Todd Kline of Chicago, Ill., Robin (Kline) Anderson of New Castle, and Dean Kline of New Castle; 11 great-grandchildren: Eric Kline, Jessica Kline, Aaron Kline, Cheryl Kline and Nathan Kline, of Gypsum, Brianne Kline, Olivia Kline, Caleb Kline and Emily Kline, of Soda Springs, Idaho, and Rebecca Anderson and Brittany Kline, of New Castle.A memorial service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of Glenwood Springs, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31. Farnum-Holt Funeral Home, 405 W. Seventh St., Glenwood Springs, Colorado has been entrusted with the arrangements.
