Peace vigil is Saturday at Two Rivers

The entire community is invited to a special 9/11 Peace Candlelight Vigil at 9 p.m. at Two Rivers Park. This is not a political anti-war rally, but an opportunity to pray for peace not only in Iraq, but in Palestine/Israel, Africa and for peace in domestic homes right here in the United States. The service will be nondenominational, and everyone is welcome and encouraged to come pray and meditate for peace in our world and peace at home. The vigil will begin and end at the bandshell at Two Rivers Park in Glenwood Springs. Participants will then walk to three separate stations to address the needs for peace in the Middle East, peace in the war-torn and drought-stricken regions of Africa, and finally for peace and the end of domestic violence for families here at home. Bring a candle, a blanket and a jacket, and join the group to pray for an end to the suffering of soldiers and civilians; and all those hurt by war, hunger and violence.
