GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado – As July turns to August in this year of weather extremes in and around our country, the Glenwood Farmer’s Market is proud to add additional quality fruits and vegetables for shoppers and local food enthusiasts. The market is open 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Rite-Aid parking lot, 1400 block of Grand Avenue, Glenwood Springs.Farmer Dave offers lean hamburger to scramble into those one-dish meals that allow us the time to eat and still enjoy our busy summer. Green beans, cucumbers and summer squash are now to be found under the canopy of Kuhn’s Peach Valley CSA. Should a person have the desire to can but not the time, the DeVries Farm stand continues to offer a fine selection of canned goods, as well as slicing cucumbers, field tomatoes and sweet corn. Blondie brownies are a specialty of Savory Hearth Bakery and never fail to satisfy the sweet tooth. The CSU Master Gardeners continue to answer weed and insect questions, in the hopes that all can have the yard and garden that they are wanting.Fort Farms will have the PF12 peaches and peanuts this week.Mesa Forge & Farm’s stand, Photos from the Farm, await our viewing as bright lights Swiss chard, and French white squash look on.The BBQ canopy will share their baby back ribs, as well as pulled pork and brisket sandwiches.
