Peggy Ann (Arlian) Otey

Peggy Ann (Arlian) Otey of Aurora died Wednesday, June 11, 2003. She was 54.

She was born June 15, 1948, in Glenwood Springs to Della Stringer and Briece Arlian, and grew up on the family ranch near El Jebel. She graduated from Basalt High School.

She earned a bachelors degree in business administration and a masters degree in education from Colorado State University.



She taught accounting and business at Northglenn High School for 20 years. She then took over the accounting department for her brother’s oil and gas business.

Ms. Otey was preceded in death by her mother, Della Arlian.



She is survived by her father, Briece Arlian of Aurora; by a daughter, Kristen Otey of Aurora; by a sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Ray Nieslanik of Yuma; by brothers and sisters-in-law Doug and Sharon Arlian of Anchorage, Alaska, Larry and Nancy Arlian of Yellow Springs, Ohio, Ronald and Shalah Arlian of Broomfield, and Alvin Arlian of Foxfield; by an aunt, Linda Nelson of El Jebel; and by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service was held June 13 at Fairmount Mortuary Chapel in Denver. Burial followed later that day with a graveside service at Red Butte Cemetery in Aspen.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
