Pettiness perturbing

Dear Editor,

After reading the editorials this past week or so I am dumbfounded. We live in a world where 17-year-old girls are blowing themselves up. A 13-year-old boy was injured in battle this past week. Less than a year ago the World Trade Center was attacked resulting in thousands of deaths. LESS THAN A YEAR! Yet we live in a community where the only thing people have to be upset about is a forthcoming motorcycle rally. It seems a little petty to me.

We should be thankful that we live someplace that the most noise we have to worry about is a Harley, not a mortar. Really. How do you find the energy to care about something so silly and small?
