"When I see beauty, heart and energy, it inspires me, and I get so excited about it," says Leon Williams.

"It's been nothing but sheer joy today," added Williams, who visited Glenwood Springs High School choir students Tuesday afternoon as part of an outreach program through Glenwood Springs Community Concert Association.

With choir director Shanti Gruber leading the choir, students performed several songs for Williams during their class.

Gruber said it was wonderful to have Williams visit and that it helps to reinforce things that she is teaching the students.

"Sometimes, hearing it from someone else they don't see every day really helps," Gruber added.

Williams performed Tuesday night at Mountain View Church in the third concert of the GSCCA 2018-19 season.

"I want to communicate and really inspire," Williams added. "I really hope that I can express something that moves people to some emotion or higher place than when they got there."
