PI blocks Glenwood high school football

Dear Editor,

I am writing to ask why Rifle High School is always in the headlines of the sports section in the Glenwood Springs Post Independent. The Glenwood football team is continually slighted; an example is last week. Glenwood varsity wins a game on Friday and is not even mentioned in the paper. Coach Denny at Glenwood has done a great job of rebuilding this program, but it needs the support of the newspaper to keep this program going. It could be related in importance to that of your advertisers, they are also needed for your paper to survive. I’m sure some of these people who advertise in your newspaper do have children who attend school in Glenwood. I wonder how long they will continue to advertise with you?

I arrive home tonight (Wednesday) and what was on the front page? Rifle High School golf; I just don’t understand. Maybe it’s time to change the name of this newspaper to the Rifle Post Independent.
