Police investigating video store break-in

CARBONDALE, Colorado ” A March 12 break-in and theft of $430 in cash from the Sounds Easy video store is under investigation by the Carbondale Police.

A boarded-up broken window at the business included a highly visible message: “All this for some change? Get a job! Losers!”

Police chief Gene Schilling said they have some leads, but are still piecing together information to come up with some suspects.

According to police reports, the burglary occurred at 2:32 a.m. March 12, when someone smashed one of the front windows in the business, located in the Sopris Shopping Center. They then entered the store and took a cash bag, and apparently fled through a back door as the burglar alarm had sounded.

“We are still investigating to see if we can get some better information to go on,” said Schilling, who added it was an isolated incident and that no other burglaries were reported that night.
