Post Independent announces new advertising director

The Post Independent has announced the addition of a new advertising director last week.Clifford Fewel joins the newspaper’s staff from the Dallas Morning News, where he was the retail advertising director.Fewel, 48, said that returning to Colorado has been his goal for several years. He worked in Boulder for more than three years as a sales trainer for newspapers. His wife, Mary, is a Boulder native.”To work for the Post Independent and with the people of Glenwood Springs and the region is an honor,” Fewel said. “I love the vitality, the beauty and the history here. I plan to offer, with my team, world-class service to our customers and readers.”Post Independent publisher Michael Bennett said that having an advertising director of Fewel’s experience and expertise will be a benefit to the newspaper and the business community.”We are fortunate to have an advertising director with Cliff’s experience coming on board. Cliff will help local businesses prosper and will be a tremendous asset to the Post Independent,” Bennett said.During his career, Fewel has worked in classified, retail sales and handled national and major accounts for newspapers in Wyoming, California, Arizona, Florida and Texas.He was born and raised in California and has a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of California-Berkeley. He and Mary have three grown daughters.Fewel said he enjoys hiking, camping, swimming, skiing and cycling. He’s also interested in presidential history – the assassination of John F.
