Post Independent disappoints

Dear Editor,

I am sorely disappointed in the quality of the news in the Glenwood Springs Post Independent. It seems to me that in a little bit more than 20 pages of writing, you have managed to not inform a single person in this valley of what is going on. The front page pictures often consist of little more than a water drop on a leaf. One of the leading stories of 2001 was the Olympic torch coming to town. When it comes to national news, it is a rarity to see what Congress is pushing for, or what is going on with the drilling proposal in the Arctic refuge (a bad idea, but I won’t go into that). The people in this valley don’t really know what is going on with our allies pledging not to help us if we attack Iraq again, and if they do, it is not from this paper.

The purpose of a newspaper is to inform the public about important current events, and in this paper, important current events are not making it in.

Most sincerely,

Dustin Bowers
