GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado ” Sunlight Mountain Resort is heading into its last weekend of the season with what’s shaping up to be a powder day Saturday.

“There’s another pretty decent storm rolling in (Friday) evening, so it looks like it’s going to be a great skiing weekend,” said marketing manager Dylan Lewis. “We’ve got a 74-inch base, so just like last year we’ll close with the biggest base we’ve had all year.”

Sunlight is expected to get four to seven inches of snow Friday and another two to four inches Saturday. The storm could drop a total of 11 or more inches of snow near the top of the resort, according to http://www.snowforecast.com.

Sunlight already received five inches of new snow in 48 hours as of Thursday morning.

Lewis said all the terrain is still open.

“It’s been more like the beginning of February than the beginning of April,” he said.
