Power restored in Rifle
Downed power lines in Rifle left approximately 1,600 customers without power late Wednesday afternoon.
Power was restored shortly after 6 p.m.
The down lines were reportedly on West Avenue between Fourth and Fifth streets, according to Mark Stutz, spokesperson for Xcel Energy in Colorado. He did not know what brought the lines down.
Roughly two-thirds of those customers will likely have their power restored in the next 30 minutes, Stutz said. It could be several more hours before the remaining customers have their power restored, he added.
The outage was first reported at 4:10 p.m.
