Basalt picked up a pair of baseball wins over visiting Grand Valley on Saturday, defeating the Cardinals by counts of 19-3 and 12-2.

A 12-run third inning paced the Longhorns in their 19-run opener. Cody Hoffman drove in four runs and had two hits for the game as Basalt rolled. Nick Calabro also had a pair of hits. He had three RBIs.

Austin Vannice and Nick Montalbano each finished with three RBIs in Game 2.

The Longhorns improved to 3-6 overall, while Grand Valley dropped to 2-6.

Cedaredge rolled to a baseball sweep at Roaring Fork on Saturday, winning by scores of 13-1 and 12-2.

The Bruins scored six runs in the first inning and four in the seventh of the opener and never looked back.

In the nightcap, Cedaredge put five runs on the board in the second and four in the sixth.

The losses dropped the Rams to 4-4.
