Roaring Fork’s volleyball team remained perfect with a sweep of visiting Basalt on Friday.

The first-place Rams beat the Longhorns by game counts of 25-17, 25-16 and 25-20 in improving its record to 11-0, both overall and in the 3A Western Slope League.

Titans topped by Gunnison

Gunnison took down visiting Coal Ridge in four games (25-12, 23-25, 25-15, 25-15) for a Friday night volleyball win.

The loss dropped the Titans to 5-6 overall and to 5-5 in the 3A WSL.

Aspen picked up just its second win of the volleyball season on Friday, sweeping host Grand Valley in three games (25-20, 26-24, 25-20).

The Skiers moved to 2-9 overall with the victory, while the Cardinals fell to 6-5 overall and to 6-4 in the 3A WSL.

Coal Ridge dispatched of visiting Grand Junction Central, 4-1, in a non-league boys soccer showdown in Peach Valley on Friday.

Jorge Hernandez scored a pair of goals for the 11-0 Titans, who also received goals from Fernando Serna and Alfonso Hernandez.

Vail Mountain erupted for four second-half goals to score a 5-1 boys soccer win at Grand Valley on Saturday.

Carlos Franco scored the Cardinals’ lone goal on an assist from Juan Rodriguez.
