Prep Sports Roundup: Alfaro hat trick propels Rams past Panthers

Nayeli Alfaro’s hat trick helped Roaring Fork’s girls soccer team to a 7-0 win at Rangely on Friday.

The Rams pelted the Panthers’ net all afternoon in improving to 7-3 overall.

Atop Alfaro’s three goals, Sharlene Salinas had two. Natalie Olivas and Taylor Adams each had one.

Recording assists were Kaleigh Wisroth (two), Mia Wedemeyer, Salinas and Adams.

On deck for Roaring Fork is a Tuesday visit from Vail Mountain School. Game time is 4 p.m.

In Friday’s Post Independent article on Thursday’s Glenwood Springs-Roaring Fork girls tennis contest, one match score was not printed because it was not available at press time.

At No. 4 doubles, Glenwood’s Corrine Passey and Hannah Nilsson defeated the Rams’ Stephanie Vega and Victoria Schlueter, 6-4, 7-6 (3).
