Prep Sports Roundup: Tennis Demons sweep Grand Junction’s junior varsity squad

Glenwood Springs’ girls tennis squad swept Thursday’s contest against Grand Junction’s junior varsity team.

Sarai Zilm (No. 1), Brandi Vinger (No. 2) and Claire Wolcott (No. 3) picked up singles wins for the Demons.

Tess Libby and Elise Metzger won at No. 1 doubles. Sadie Dickinson and Tessa Ebert were victorious at No. 2 doubles and Flora Fischbacher and Morley Perrin won at No. 4 doubles.

Erin Fangman and Bronte Gilman didn’t get to finish their No. 3 doubles match due to rain.

Glenwood junior varsity players Ivy Wight and Lara Mollica also picked up a win.

Emily Fisher scored two goals and Nayeli Alfaro one as Roaring Fork beat Vail Christian in girls soccer on Thursday, 3-0.

Hailey Thompson and Kaleigh Wisroth had assists for the Rams, now 9-3 overall.

Kelly Ciesco’s four goals were too much for Rifle’s girls soccer team to overcome in a 5-3 loss at Moffat County on Thursday.

The Bears dropped to 2-9-1.

Mustering just one hit, Glenwood Springs stumbled to a 10-0 baseball loss at Grand Junction Central on Thursday.

Tim Burr recorded the lone base hit for the Demons, who dropped to 4-9 overall.
