Post IndependentGlenwood Springs, CO Colorado

Today is is the 25th annual Tri-Glenwood Triathlon. The Race will start with the swim (825 meters) at the Hot Springs Pool, followed by the bicycle leg (15 miles) going from the pool down Interstate 70 to Canyon Creek and returning back on I-70 to the pool. The running leg (5 miles) goes through Glenwood down Midland Avenue and finishing on Seventh Street just past the Grand Avenue bridge. How many Tri-Glenwood’s have you done? Two as an individual (2006 and 2007) and last year I was the swim leg on a relay team. What makes the Tri-Glenwood special? My first triathlon in my new life (I used to weigh 471 pounds at the beginning of 2006, I am now down to 380 and this will be my 8th triathlon). And the great volunteers, great town, fun race.Your favorite memory of competing in the Tri-Glenwood? Finishing my first one even though I was dead last. What’s the most difficult part of the triathlon for you? Run (I walk it)How long will you keep competing? Until I die! I am going to do this race every year I am able. Two years ago there was a lady who finished and she was 80! Very inspirational (well till I saw her blow a snot rocket on the bike! LOL)
