Quigley helps Bears to fourth-place team finish at The Bridges
Rifle’s Triston Quigley carded a 77 to finish in a tie for sixth place at Wednesday’s boys golf tournament at The Bridges Golf Course in Montrose.
Montrose’s Cole Brennecke won medalist honors, finishing with a 72 to edge out Montezuma-Cortez’s Jakob Rudosky (73).
Fruita Monument topped host Montrose by a stroke in the team standings, finishing with a 227.
Rifle placed fourth in the team hunt with a 237. Danny Bartels chipped in with a 79 for the Bears, who got an 81 from Ty Caron, an 85 from Cody Capwell and an 87 from Teig Hauer.
Tyler Scott paced Coal Ridge with an 83. The Titans’ Cassidy Lawrence shot an 84, while Cole Duplesys and Riley Tamborello both shot 92s and Michael Moser posted a 96.
Both Rifle and Coal Ridge will remain in Montrose for a tournament today at Black Canyon Golf Club.
