R. Lucille Riggle

R. Lucille Riggle, of Eagle, Colo., died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002, in Glenwood Springs, Colo. She was 80.

She was born April 30, 1922, in Buffalo, Wyo., to Thurman and Ruby Gossett.

She graduated from Children’s Hospital School of Nursing, and moved to Gilman, Colo., to work in the New Jersey Zinc Co. hospital.



She married Robert Riggle, who she met in Gilman, on June 28, 1947.

Mrs. Riggle worked as a clerk at the Gilman Post Office. The family moved to Eagle, Colo., in 1972, and she worked at the Eagle Post Office until 1988.



Mrs. Riggle loved flowers and birds and was renowned for her ability to name them all. She enjoyed the outdoors, painting and taking long walks.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Riggle; and sister Idabelle Gossett.

Ms. Riggle is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Patty and Paul Yount, and Sue and Butch Keith, all of New Castle, Colo.; son and daughter-in-law Bob and JoAnn Riggle, of Eagle; grandson and granddaughter-in-law Robert and Susan Keith, of Globe, Ariz.; and sister Claire Crews, of Billings, Mont.

Cremation has taken place.

Her ashes will be interred in a graveside service at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 20, at Sunset View Cemetery in Eagle, with Rev. Dunston officiating. A luncheon reception will follow at Eagle Ranch Pavilion.

Farnum Holt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
