Glenwood Springs, CO Colorado

Raymond Runge was born in 1921 to Adolph and Maggie Runge in Cairo, Nebraska. They moved to Denver, where he attended Westminster High School. Next, Ray joined the Army during WWII and became a radar specialist. He married the love of his life, Reta, after the war and they had two children, Clifford and Jannette.

Ray worked for the original Denver television station, Channel 7 for 30 years. He retired to take care of Reta, after she was diagnosed with MS.

Ray was an adventurer. He loved rivers and was one of the few brave enough to run Glen Canyon of the Colorado in 1963. He loved to fish in Alaska, and hunt in Colorado.

Rarely a month went by without Ray planning an adventure.

Ray will be remembered for his wit, intelligence and unconditional love and caring for Reta.

There will be a small family service on the shores of the Colorado River, Sunday, May 31.
