Re-1 information a little screwy

Re-1 information is a little screwyDear Editor,This is in regards to the school district notice of a meeting. Recently, a notice comes out in the paper – the day of the meeting in Carbondale, for the Roaring Fork High School and red building. It was unclear if there is going to be anything on Glenwood High School. So I called the school district, 384-6000, and Pam answers. I asked her if the meeting that night will be about Glenwood High and the land it is taking. She said no, it was over the Red Building in Carbondale. I asked her, are you sure? She reassured me that it was just the red building in Carbondale. Now either their staff is playing games as much as the district is, or they really have no idea how to inform anyone at all.So where does the public turn to for a straight up answer? The community really needs to be informed, and more than the day of the meeting. Like, say, oh, a week would be nice, and then a follow up notice on the day, too. Looking back at the school district’s record of informing the public on any plans is rather poor, and I can’t really think of any good excuse, not even the dog ate it.Monee HarringtonNew Castle
