Re-2 to hear presentation, honor a teacher
The Re-2 School District Board of Education meeting today at the Learning Opportunity Center in Rifle will begin at 7 p.m. Representatives from Colorado Small School Initiatives will make a presentation to the board. Both Rifle and Coal Ridge high schools are expected to operate based on Small School Initiative philosophies next year. Representatives Bob McCarthy, Laura Findley and Van Schoales will explain the program. The meeting will include a ceremony to honor Brenda Leisman, a consumer and family studies teacher at Rifle High. Lisa Doherty will explain the process for identifying gifted and talented students, and Tom Stuver will discuss the Centennial Park project in Rifle.
