We are now about halfway through our roundabout construction, and I wanted to give several companies an attaboy. When the project was starting, I went to them to ask for their cooperation in keeping their trucks out of the construction area and using other ways of getting their trucks moved around. They have done a great job, and helped all of us by reducing the amount and size of vehicles using the intersections involved with the construction. A big thank you to Antero Resources, Beaver Creek Water Hauling, Brandt A Varco Co., Dalbo, FedEx, Flint Energy Services, Garfield County, Garfield Steel, Arrow Stage Lines, Harrys Heavy Haulers, K&M Food Service, Mountain Water Service, National Oilwell Varco, Redman Pipe & Supply, Speedy Heavy Hauling, TD Production, Wal-Mart and Western Slope Trailers.I would also invite those that I have not contacted to join us in avoiding using the exit 90 intersections. This will be especially critical after the switch over to the east side of Highway 13. This will make turning onto or off Airport Road near impossible for trucks and motor homes, so I encourage everyone to help out. It looks like we are right on schedule, and with the two new planned closures, we will finish ahead of schedule. Everyone in Rifle and surrounding areas deserves a big thank you for being patient and courteous to your fellow neighbors. We still have a few jerks out there that are in a big hurry, but in general everyone is working together pretty well. When this project is done, well all be proud of the end product!Gary OsierRifle
