Readers say thanks

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to The Glenwood Springs Post Independent, Vista Auto Group and Radio Station KMTS for their support of the recent “Dags Last Stand” fundraising event sponsored by the Glenwood Springs Elks Lodge. Both the Post Independent and KMTS provided great media coverage, and the Vista Auto Group provided parking space and a shuttle vehicle that allowed us to accommodate the large crowd. Proceeds from the event (more than $4,000) will be donated to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research and to Laradon Hall, the alternative school for developmentally disabled children and adults. Many people and businesses contributed time and merchandise to make this event successful.

I am grateful and honored that the Dags requested the Elks to host their final gig, and that they generously donated the proceeds to two such worthy recipients.

Don’t you just love this community? I do.

I would like to extend a thank-you to everyone who helped with the Chris Cagle and Night Ranger concert Aug. 2. It was an amazing show, and it wouldn’t have been possible without everyone that helped.

Everybody stepped it up when Chris Cagle wasn’t able to perform and worked extremely hard to find someone to take his place. Believe me, all of your hard work did not go unnoticed. To all of the volunteers, staff and sponsors, thank you so much for all of your continued support!
