KDNK reached its $50,000 goal last Friday following a live broadcast from Leadville. KDNK has remained strong for 25 years thanks to the support of the Roaring Fork community. The power of people is an amazing thing to experience, and at KDNK we get to experience that power daily. Over 70 volunteer DJs per year program the station. An ever-growing youth radio collaboration educates youth on the technicalities and power of the airwaves. Local and national news is broadcast daily, and all this emanates from a tiny studio in Carbondale. In this time of economic uncertainty, people know the value of investing locally. We’d like to take this time to thank some businesses and individuals that helped us during the Fall Membership Drive: The Sky Hotel, Takeh Sushi, The Belly Up, Stacey Evans, The Swiss Gourmet, Peppinos, Rico Torres, New York Pizza, Jammin Jim, Bill Laemmel, Kay Hannah, Barb Jacksa, Cindy Blachly, Megan Currier, Grana Bread, Dos Gringos, Chris Leoniak, Art Ackerman, The Ugly Cookie Company, Melanzana, Half Moon Deli, Phat Thai, Gordon Saucepan and Mr. Vail, Dan Hardin, The Cheese Shop, Southern Wines, Chris Leis, Liv Johnson, Steve Cole, Il Poggio, Will Evans and Kay Brunnier, The Village Smithy, Ed and Peri’s Mountain Hideaway in Leadville and The Pour House. We also need to thank all the fantastic volunteers and all our friends who renewed or became new members of KDNK. We can’t do it without community. We invite everyone to stop by our studios at 76 S. Second Street and get to know us. Thanks again! The KDNK Staff – Steve Skinner, Amy Kimberly, Wick Moses, Luke Nestler, Steve Zelaznik, Cindy Blachly and Lynette O’ Kane
