Readers say thanks

To all my friends, thank you for your loving thoughts and prayers while I was in the hospital in Denver recently. I couldn’t have made it without you.

To all the folks in Valley View emergency room and the pilots and medical personnel who got me from here to there ” you all are the best Valentines a fellow could ask for.

Love, light and laughter.

On February 11, 2009, the fifth grade from Carbondale Middle School enjoyed a day of skiing at Buttermilk. We want to thank the amazing staff from the Aspen Ski Co. for all they did to make this trip such a positive one for all of us.

For many of our students, this was their introduction to skiing/boarding and the instructors that day were enthusiastic and engaged. The entire SkiCo staff made the trip both positive and memorable for nearly 90 young valley residents. They also worked with us to ensure the trip was affordable as well as enjoyable. We are truly lucky to have such a supportive business in our valley.

We especially want to thank Matthew Hamilton and John Kneiper for playing lead roles in organizing our trip, and for the staff at Bumps for a terrific lunch. We also want to thank the parent chaperones who joined us and made the outing possible: Steve and Kim Feder, Steve and Linda Slack, Kurt and Marla Korn, Tom and Laurie Stevens, Laura Kuhl, Christina Harris, Debi Martinez and Martin Garcia.

From the Carbondale Middle School fifth grade team and our students, we send you all a big thank you!

Carbondale Middle School staff: Rick Holt, principal; Kerry Schaefer; Mary Russell; Jason Kreiling; Wendy Hayden; and Diana Alcantara
