“At a time when we felt so desperately alone, we found out that we were not alone at all. We found out how many other people were hurting for us and with us and that is no small thing. They were trying to tell us that Franklin’s life meant a lot to them, not only to us and our family, and that whatever happened we would not be totally alone. That is what their prayers were saying, and it made a difference.”

” Harold Kushner (adapted)

Your prayers have made all the difference and we would like to attempt to thank you for all the love, prayers, meals, walks, phone calls and cards you as a community have given to our family. There are not enough words to describe the comfort we have found living in this valley and feeling your support during our time of grief. We thank each of you who loved and cherished Franklin during his life. Thank you for sharing those stories with us. We cannot say enough about the staff of Valley View Hospital who never gave up and exhausted every possibility in their attempts to save our son. Dr. Brooks and the whole Valley View team, you are all truly amazing. Many of your names we do not know but your kind faces and tireless actions are stamped in our minds. Thank you to the rescue workers, ambulance drivers, flight for life crew and all the people who prayed for us that day and the days that followed. A special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Children’s Hospital and all of the love they showed our son. Especially Nurse Claudia Benson who walked us through the toughest day of our lives with such compassion and caring. As she helped us hold our son one last time she held our hearts in her hands and held them so gently. We are grateful to all of our family and friends who came from across the country to hold us in their arms and to honor Franklin’s life. Trey Holt and Thomas Walton, you and your staff’s compassion and professionalism could never be described or matched. A special thanks to Levy and Jacque Burris for the love you have always shown our family. We thank St. Stephen’s Church (Father Cliff McMillan) and Mountain View Church (Pastor Dave, Pastor Jeff and Kathy) for the beautiful service that helped us all to honor Franklin’s life, and put our own in perspective. There are so many of you who have showed such compassion and we thank you for every kind and generous display of your love and support.

Most importantly, thank you Franklin for being a part of our lives. We miss you so much and love you even more.

A little more than a month ago, there was an automobile accident that damaged the entrance sign to Glenwood Park. Since I have taken care of the garden there for about 25 years, I followed through with the insurance company involved.

As I was removing the new letters put up in December off the old sign, Hector Weber came along and said he would like to build the new sign.

Hector did a fantastic job building a strong new sign, and had it up in just over a week.

If you see Hector, please thank him or call him at 618-9583.
