Carbondale Recreation would like to sincerely thank everyone who made the 2010 Town Easter Egg Hunt an egg-cellent success! As a Town-sponsored, free community event with limited funding, the Hunt depends upon the generous contributions of local businesses to make it special. Thank you to Kevin and the El Jebel City Market, Jeff and the Carbondale City Market, and Kim and the Glenwood Springs Wal-Mart for donating store gift cards that went toward purchasing Easter Baskets and stuffed toys for the Easter Basket Raffle. We would also like to recognize The Floral Boutique of Carbondale Inc., for preparing the grand prize basket for the raffle. Thank you to Nelson Oldham and Dos Gringos burritos for donating two gift cards. We would also like to thank Bob and Kathy Ezra with the Crystal Theater for donating 2 movie tickets. These donations were greatly appreciated as they allowed 21 kids to win baskets or other prizes to take home. Finally, we would like to thank sponsors American Legion Post 100 and the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary for their very generous monetary contributions.Roughly 300 kids were present at Sopris Park, scouring the area to find over 3000 stuffed eggs hidden there. After the hunt they had the opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny and take photos together. Thank you EB for hopping by. Lastly, a big thank you to the Carbondale Fire Department for bringing the Bunny aboard one of their fire trucks. Sincerely,Carbondale Recreation

You asked great questions, and made each presentation a special occasion by your presence. Finally, thanks to Nelson Oldham and Dos Gringos Burritos for hosting the Carbondale presentations. You turned your venue into an institution of higher learning. We’re already starting to think about next winter’s Naturalist Nights. We welcome any suggestions on topics and speakers, and feedback for improving the series.Dave Reed, Wilderness WorkshopLindsy Fortier, ACES
