I want to extend my sincere thanks to the ones who made my daughter’s and her friend’s first lemonade stand an extraordinary memory.

Thank you to “daddy”, the best advertiser for his little girl, for inviting the employees of Columbine Ford to stop by and taste “the best lemonade in town.” Thank you to the guys in Parts and Service at Columbine Ford; in spite of your quick lunch hour, you took the time and went out of your way to stop by. Thank you to “grandma,” who left work on a moment’s notice and even brought orders to fill from the Jim Lord Agency. Thank you to all our wonderful friends and neighbors who took time to visit two future entrepreneurs.

Last but not least, thank you to their siblings, even if you did try to sneak off with the plate of cookies. Great job girls!

As my first year as District Manager of Junior Achievement of the Roaring Fork Valley ends, and we reflect on this year’s program and classes taught throughout our area, I wanted to thank the superintendents and teachers of Aspen, Re-1, Re-2 and Parachute school districts – your class requests to ensure our programs are taught to your students allowed 129 classes to be included in your curriculum this year.

However, these requested classes would go unmet without the 100 dedicated volunteers of our Valley. I hope you are all proud to know that through your efforts (many of you taught more than one class), more than 2600 students, from Aspen to Parachute, learned about financial literacy, entrepreneurial and economic skills, and other important real-life scenarios.

Finally the support of our loyal donors is the foundation that makes Junior Achievement possible in our Valley. Thanks to each of you for making a difference in our children’s lives.

All of you deserve my sincere appreciation. It has been a tremendously rewarding year for JA and me – and all because of you.
