Red Feather forum Thursday

Staff Report

GLENWOOD SPRINGS – City residents will be able to sort out issues and get some straight answers on the upcoming Red Feather Ridge election during a televised forum Thursday.

The forum, called the Glenwood Springs Issues and Answers Forum on Red Feather Ridge, will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Glenwood Springs City Hall. It will also be televised live on Cable Channel 12. The forum comes less than a month before the June 24 special mail-in election. The single ballot question will ask city voters whether to uphold or overturn City Council’s decision to annex Red Feather Ridge, a 149-lot subdivision up Four Mile Road.

Panels of three will represent the pro and con sides of the issue Thursday.

Each side will summarize their views, followed by a round of questions from the audience. Panelists may then ask each other questions, followed by another round of questions from the audience and concluding statements from each side. The forum will be moderated by Jan Kaufman of Glenwood Springs, a member of the League of Women Voters.

Residents may call in their questions during the live broadcast by calling 384-6457.
