Red Feather Ridge will be developed anyway

Dear Editor,

It hurt to vote “yes” on Red Feather Ridge. It’s against all the data opponents have shown so meticulously. They are right, but the bigger truth is that it will be developed anyway. It’s just a matter of how.

This reactionary mode will always exist for any new project. It’s easy to be against it, and could very well be defeated.

In the backdrop of defeat, what’s the plan? Wait to be against the next project.

The name “Red Feather Ridge” sounds like it was imported from Oklahoma. Oklahoma is OK, but just OK. How about a “Colorado” name?

This community should take a proactive stance and have even the pre-schoolers aware of our community and what’s planned, rather than being pushed around by some background people with a pencil and a profit margin.

Build a scale model of the community and its adjacent mountains so that the past, present and future are apparent to all. Maybe then will we have something to really vote on.
